Italian Orphans
Several of my Italian ancestors were orphans. On their records birth/marriage/death), the parents were listed as "genitori ignoti". Is there any way to find out who the parents were or if they were placed in an orphanage, or adopted?

The 1920 census says Samuel, Mamie, and son Anthony (born 1904) all immigrated in 1905. Are we sure this is the correct census? According to that census (image below), he was born 1906'ish and emigrated in 1921. The only passenger manifest I found which meets those requirements is for a Donato Del Coro whose birthplace and last residence was Rapolla - a comune in the province of Potenza. 1930 census: http://s1.postimage.org...
