of course im sorry my English is not the best taking a course on it now punctuation is what is at issue ill try to correct it better and be more careful

I put togeather the wwII card myself, as well as rafaella rossa (meaning her name from records) I think that may be right, But I could not get all the info you did off the card. Thank you so much for clearing up the info from the cards for me. I owe you some kinda thank you when this is said and done.

i would use the google translator but from what i gather its just so so for translating full context though you may find it useful in translating stuff at times if you like i can start typing it in English and include a Google translated version on the bottom half into italian if it helps. i put a sample below of how it would look

in itlaian

tell me if this makes any more sense for you

Oh... I understand english pretty good, sometimes I don't understand the abbreviations etc...

About Raffaella, the correct lastname was Russo.

I advice you to ask for the Application of the SSN for Peter, you'll find at least his exact birth place, so you can confirm it was Portico di Caserta or not....

I wasn't able to find traces of Peter's Naturalization Papers on Ancestry.com, I know there are some members here with a Footnote.com Account, I hope someone will jump here and help you with this document too...

it was more than common for immigrants to "americanize" their first and lastnames, Peter is the correspondent of Pietro....
Maybe Iodice was simply mispelled....

The mormons microfilmed the Civil Registration of the Town of Portico di Caserta:

http://www.familysearch.org/eng/library ... +Portico+d &columns=*,0,0

You can contact your nearest Family History center and rent (for example) this Film:

Nati, pubblicazioni, matrimoni, morti, cittadinanze 1884-1910
FHL INTL
Film 1801839 Items 1-2

Births, Marriage Banns, deaths, Citizenships, 1884-1910

if all these "deductions" were right, then you'll find Pietro Iodice/Jodice birth act....

Here you can find your nearest Family history center:

http://www.familysearch.org/eng/library ... et_fhc.asp

here you can find the town microfilmed:

http://www.familysearch.org/eng/library ... umns=*,0,0

This could be an "easy" way to determine if the birth town is correct, or you can send the request for the SSN application:
I advice you to ask for the Application of the SSN for Peter, you'll find at least his exact birth place, so you can confirm it was Portico di Caserta or not....
