Need help reading this Record

Post by Castrogovianni »

Hi Friends,

Please help me read this record. I can see that Francesco Castrogiovanni's wife's name is Giovanna; however just below it; i can't read his fathers name on line #25, column 11? Is it Giuseppe? Thanks

here is the link:

http://search.ancestry.com/iexec/?htx=V ... 4033623691

After looking further...the fathers's name may go with the line below Francesco :( ...your thoughts

more people could help up if you post the image. As it is now only people who subscribe to Ancestry can view the record.

I think his father's name is Giuseppe. The name of the town follows. I don't see the wife's name Giovanna. On the second page, it states that he is joining brother Salvatore at 60 Catherine St NY. As far as Antonia on line 26, there is no name listed there for a contact back in Italy, just the name of the town.

Francesco Castrogiovanni; age 28; male; married; laborer; unable to read or write; last residence - Militello (probably Militello in Val di Catania); nearest relative in Italy - wife Giovannina; going to join brother Salvatore at 60 Catherine Street, New York, New York; Marks of Identification - scar to the cheek; Place of Birth - Militello.

I believe the reference to "father Giuseppe" is for line 26.

Thank you all for your feedback...one more question. I want to get the names of Francesco's parents. Also, any other family information that is available. I took the great advice that i received here on Italian Genealogy and wrote to Militello to request a Family Certificate and Birth Certificate for both Francesco and his brother Salvatore and their children; while i am waiting for that information...is their anything else i can do learn more; any more research suggestions?

Any help you could provide would be much appreciated: Here is what i know...
