Re: Fasanello / DiSanto = Brick Wall

Hello again, many years later! An update on this family, as I have found SOME info and am still looking for the rest. :) Cesare DiSanto and Vincenza Fasanella (1863-1947) were married in San Fele, 31 OCT 1888. They had a son, Guiseppe in 1889, and emigrated to NYC in 1891. Their daughter Margherita ...

John, thank you, so very much! I emailed you the info I have about Domenico & Concetta's family in the US; did you receive it?

Also, can you confirm that both the groom & bride's occupation is 'Contadino' - peasant farmer?

Catelli/Gianfagna Atti di Matrimonio Translation

I'd appreciate it if someone could double check me on this one: Domenico Catelli, age 22, born in Campobasso, son of the deceased Antonio Catelli and of Antonia Ialenti, married Concetta Gianfagna, age 23, born in Campobasso, daughter of Michelangelo Gianfagna and Cristina del Greco, on 03 NOV 1881....

Re: Need Help Finding Passenger Lists, Please!

John, wow...thanks so much! I think you might have me confused with someone else, though. Domenico & Concetta's great-grandson, Nick, married my cousin, Mary Roccanova. I've just recently started researching Nick's family as a gift for his & Mary's 50th anniversary next year. They will be sp...

Re: Need Help Finding Passenger Lists, Please!

Thank you for looking! Yes, I do use Ancestry and one of those trees you're seeing (Debi's Roots & Wings 2) is mine. :) The others I've seen have various immigration dates, some after Domenico's naturalization...and no passenger lists. The other dates given in the censuses are, so far: 1910/1890...

Re: Need Help Finding Passenger Lists, Please!

I have his naturalization papers. He was naturalized in the Supreme Court of Richmond County; because he naturalized before 1906, there is very little info...which was surprising to me. His wife and children aren't mentioned, no ship's name, place of birth is given as "Italy"...he couldn't...

Re: Need Help Finding Passenger Lists, Please!

Hi, Tessa! Unfortunately, no. They give a date (August 1, 1890) but no ship's name. The earlier naturalization records are just as light on info as the early lists...so they weren't much help. I must surely hold a record for bad transcriptions... :? When I finally found my great-grandfather's list (...

Need Help Finding Passenger Lists, Please!

I am having trouble finding passenger lists for this family: Domenico Catello, born 1859, in Campobasso (unsure if it's the city or somewhere else in the province). [Son of Antonio Catello & Maria Antonia Arrenda(sp?) His naturalization records say he arrived in August 1, 1890. He filed his Decl...

Re: Help deciphering the name of this place?

Funny...I had made a note to come back after work today and ask you "who went to NJ? I thought they went to Staten Island! :) "

Thank you, again! I am about to dive into the records from Teana. I am sure I will be pestering you again later. :)

Re: Help deciphering the name of this place?

That's them, Suanj! Thank you!!

These names are new to me, as I am helping my cousin with her husband's tree. They are planning a trip to Italy for their 50th wedding anniversary in the spring and I am trying to nail down places for them. This is marvelous...thanks again!! :)
