Re: Giovanni Rossi, Montenerodomo

I hope I have enlarged the stamps enough. They are hard to read to begin with.

Re: Austrian or Italian

I have the naturalization records from Baptista John Stonfer's brother Jno Stonfer, but I have yet to find Baptista's (John). Baptista's (John) brother, Jno immigrated the same year as he did. His brother's naturalization papers state the he departed from Le Havre, France on November 8th or 9th, 190...

Re: Austrian or Italian

I cannot thank this genealogy community enough for their help. My great grand parents spoke very broken English and that is probably why their name is continuously spelled wrong. I tried different spellings, but not the ones above. I cannot wait to tell my father that his family does exist. Thank yo...

Austrian or Italian

There is some controversy as to whether my father's grandparents were Austrian or Italian. Half of the family says they are Italian and the other half says they are Austrian. My great grandparents' names were Battista Stonfer and Katerina Corona. Stonfer does not sound Italian to me, but Corona does...

Re: Nicolangelo D'Antonio Manifest

I don't think either is him, but I do appreciate the research.

Nicolangelo D'Antonio Manifest

My great grandfather, Nicolangelo D'Antonio, immigrated from Montenerodomo, Italy to the U.S. in 1911. I believe he arrived on October 9, 1911 in Philadelphia, PA. His ship was "Ancona". I have not been able to locate his manifest.

Thank you Johnnyonthespot! Those were great surprises. I just recently subscribed to ancestry.com and am still learning how to better search for the info I am looking for.

Re: Family from Montenerodomo

I do not have either manifest. I do know that Rosaria Carozza Rossi came to the U.S on November 5, 1926 on the Conte Biancomano with her 3 daughters.

Re: Family from Montenerodomo

Thank you for searching for info for me. I do not think this is my direct relative. My great grandmother was the first born in 1891. I think Antonio Carozza was born abt. 1895. This is probably a relative though. Montenerodomo is a very old and very small town of about 1000 people. I appreciate your...

Family from Montenerodomo

Both of my mother's parents were from Montenerodomo. Both sides also have all of the same surnames too! I am researching the Rossi's, D'Antonio's, and Carozza's from Montenerodomo. My great grandmother was Rosaria Carozza. She was born in 1891 to Ludovico Carozza and Gelsomina Rossi. Rosaria had a b...

Giovanni Rossi, Montenerodomo

My great grandfather was Giovanni Rossi. He was born in 1890 in Montenerodomo, Italy to Teresa Anna Francesca Fedele Pasquarelli and Fedele Rossi. I have his military discharge papers from 1919 (Italy). I noticed many rubber stamp marks on it. One of the stamps is a circle and I can see the words &q...
