Found this:

http://www.italiangen.org/NYCDeathresul ... &B1=Submit

died on 1905, this explain why you can't find him in other census.
Age is 59, matches with the 1900 census.

Probably is him.

Mary Annella is the only survived, and as Laura posted in 1920 census, she was married with John Festa, had two sons, Grace (b.1916) and Frank (b.1917).

I have found the marriage of Grace in 1932 with La Vallata Ralph j. in Manhattan, and Frank marriage in 1936 with Doody Mary in Queens.

From 1930 census seems William had no sons.

The sons of Grace (who have surname La Vallata) and Frank (Annella) could be alive.

Another thing:

1930 Census for John Festa... he had another son Edward... born about in 1922...

Name: John Festa
Home in 1930: Manhattan, New York, New York
Age: 40
Estimated birth year: abt 1890
Birthplace: Italy
Relation to Head of House: Head
Spouse's name: Mary
Race: White
Occupation:
Education:
Military Service:
Rent/home value:
Age at first marriage:
Parents' birthplace: View image
Neighbors: View others on page
Household Members: Name Age
John Festa 40
Mary Festa 43
Grace Festa 15
Frank Festa 13
Edward Festa 8

But Antonio, I hope all the best things for your search, but don't think that these persons can bring you to your relatives.... Grace, Frank and Edward were sons of the daughter of a friend of the two Di dominicis....
Evry time I found and interesting manifest I hope to read the Di Dominicis name near the ones of the friends we found but... nothing jump up!!!
It's not possible to ask to some relatives here in Italy where did live Giuseppe in USA? The family doesn't have any paper or documents or passport?

Someone in the family has heared he spoken about Carolina....but these are only flying voices, they are all died...and Carolina would be only a misunderstanding of Carinola....
I hope to contact Giuseppe descendents who lives far from Carinola and ask them something....

I think it's NOT possible that we cannot found a trace about them.

We will never found them only if they changed name after landing in USA.
But change own name was an easy thing in that period?

The fact they are not available in every census, in every death record, in every marriage record.....you can escape to the census, you can have no marriage, you can have no children....BUT YOU MUST DIE !!!!!! somewhere and someone has buried you! What name you have on your stone??? John smith?

I must found him, that's the bet of my life, and i have promise this to my grandmother, who is died asking about her father.

HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Antonio,

No need to apologize, I can imagine how frustrated you are. My heart is breaking for you. I am going to the library today and I am going to start from the very beginning to see if we missed something. I think that the only things we know for sure are the ships manifests, so that is where I will start.

Meanwhile, if yoy have any other information, no matter how insignificant, please post it.

When searching at familysearch, I noticed that there were several Border Crossings to Canada for Giovanni Di Domenico and reentries through Niagara, Buffalo and Detroit. Unfortunately, I can't see the details...maybe someone could check it. Maybe he worked for a trucking co., etc. and the route was through Canada.........maybe he stayed in Canada and that's why nothing can be found? It may not be the same person but it could be an explanation of why he disappears from US records.

Antonio,
Sirena is correct. I found a number of Canadian border crossings for Giovanni, birth date ranges from 1875 to 1879 so it could be the same person and the birthdate is in the ballpark. One was December 1907 and another Aug. 1913. No census records in NY or Michigan.

There were no WW I draft registration cards for either Giovanni or Giuseppi.

Found another Giovanni in a PA census. Age was right, but he was living with 2 other Didomenicos, Domenico and Alexandro all boarders in someone's home.

Checked all spellings of cognome including Dominic and Dominick, in case he Americanized it into something like John Dominick.

I think we must look in Canada. Perhaps Nuccia can help with Canadian records.
