Ciao Antonio,

you quiet me.... :) I think have made a mistake with the other people taking part in this post...

Well, so the record I found it's right!!
I've cheked all Censuses (1910/1920/1930) but at now I didn't found nothing...
But I'm very perseverant so I'm going on with the search..

It's only a little help but I want to post the first manifest of the 1903 arrival from Ancestry.com because there is the address of the friend where they were going to.... because is more legible for me... (maybe friend Romeo Leschiera and Salvatore ???? 203 Grand Street NY...is it?)
someone can help??
Laura

Antonio,

I have limited access to records, I have no paid subscriptions. The New York database has the following records.

This is the name of men getting married. Names could be spelled incorrectly.

Grooms

http://www.italiangen.org/EDNresults.AS ... ter=sounds

http://www.italiangen.org/southernresul ... ter=sounds

This is a death index up until 1948. One is for a 9 year old which I know is not your grandfather and the second one is for Giovanni and lists his age as 56. I know you said he was born in 1877 so it would put this man's age off, but I know from searching for my own relatives the ages can be way off. I have a great grandfather that stayed 40 years old for over 30 years!! I don't know if this will help or not.

Death

http://www.italiangen.org/NYCDeathresul ... &B1=Submit

Maybe someone with more access to records can help out.

Ciao Antonio,

My searches didn't bring result!!
I searched so much all the censuses but with no luck, also because your relatives didn't had a family with wife and childrens in America so it's difficult locate them....
The only record I found that can be interesting is:

You searched for Didominicis born in Italy in 1878

1930 United States Federal Census
about Guiseppi Didomenico
Name: Guiseppi Didomenico
Home in 1930: Manhattan, New York, New York
Age: 47
Estimated birth year: abt 1883
Birthplace: Italy
Race: White

This person at the moment of the census was a patient of the Manhattan State Hospital, he declared 47 years old, married from the age of 27, born in Italy, Alien, year of arrival in USA 1903...
If you know the date of marriage of Giuseppe you can compare....
Only to try to found others people near the two De Dominicis brothers, found the 1910 Census for Romeo Leschernieri (the friend they were going at the arrival in Ellis Island) in fact this man was living with his wife Rachele, his daughter Luisa and his brother in law Leone Henry just in 106 Th Street, New York.....
Sorry, I didn't find other....

Laura can you search the New York death indexes? I only came up with 2 names, one is 9 year old (not him) other is 56 (might be him even though age is off).

Maybe your search will find more than 2 names.

Ciao Elizabeth...

Oh yes, I think I've searched all Ancestry.com in these two days but without finding interesting records....
Don't know why but it seems that these two brothers were living withouth leave traces!!!
Another problem can be the right spelling of the surname De/Di Domenicis/Dominico/Dominicis/Domenico.....
Don't know how to improve the search....
Any suggestion??

I don't know what else to do. Maybe trace the family where he came the first time and Antonio might write a letter to them to see if anyone might remember his grandfather and what happened to him. Or he might write or email the hospital to find out why his grandfather was there and what happened to him and to see if they can give Antonio the address that his grandfather gave them.

The only other thing might be to check Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Michigan, New Jersey and Canada. I think those would be the most logical places for him to have gone. Give these places a try and see what you come up with.

That's incredible!!

I'm trying to put order in Italiangen records informations, but the confirmation that you can't find any trace of these two brothers, discourages me to continue the research.

What have arranged in USA these two guy? mafia? They have changed name? Or what?

Thanks a lot for your contribute, Laura and Elizabeth, i hope something can came out from your research.

Romeo Leschernieri...uhmmmm...i must ask to my parents in Carinola...at first time this name doesn't tell me nothing....

an other thing...Giuseppe in the hospital (uhmmm....) says he is married from tha age of 27...if he is born in ab.1883 (as he says), he must be married in 1910, so that's not the italian marriage.....

A little trace (Sherlock Holmes is my cousin):

As i said before, Giuseppe would have married in 1910 (not in Italy, but in USA), so i found this:

And this!!!!:

http://www.italiangen.org/NYCBridesresu ... &B1=Submit

What do you think????

Now, that surname "AEZZA" sounds me not good, i think it's a writing mistake.

I have seen on paginebianche.it and the sarname Aezza is not present all over Italy.
That's a writer mistake, i'm sure, we must search for "Trezza" "Pezza" or similar.

I must also see for the exact birth date of Giuseppe, if it's 1883, we are on the way, i hope not to meet Al Capone discendents.....

You might have something. I don't know if there is a way for anyone to look at the actual certificate of if you have to write to request a copy.

I believe the marriage certificates would contain the bride and grooms parents names.

Anyone watching this thread, can you jump in and clarify for Antonio what needs to happen next? Is there a way to look at the certificate on line or does he have to write a letter and request a copy?
