Ciao Antonio!

about the RI deat record Misbris was talking about, maybe is this:

Rhode Island Deaths, 1630-1930
about Giovanni DiDomenico
Name: Giovanni DiDomenico
Kin 1: Agostino DiDomenico
Kin 2: Maria DiDomenico
Death Date: 26 Aug 1917
Age: 36 yrs
Approx. year of birth 1881....
But Agostino and Maria I don't know who are these persons....

I'm just searching between the immigrants from cArinola (years 1905/1910) to see if someone was referring to the two Di Dominicis brothers..... but.... :? it's a very hard job!!!

Buon Finesettimana!

Io vivo a Roma. La mia mail è dedo@iol.it
Ciao
Francesco

The story is a little long...i try to explain:

Two brothers, Giovanni e Giuseppe De Dominicis (De Dominico), who went in USA at the beginning of 1900, for a first time toghether in 1903. Here is the travel, the last two passengers:

http://www.ellisisland.org/EIFile/popup ... &line=0029

After a couple of years both returned in Italy, and after a little time they went in USA not togheter but in different time.

Giovanni in 1905, passenger n. 15:

http://www.ellisisland.org/EIFile/popup ... &line=0015

Giuseppe in 1907, passenger n. 12:

http://www.ellisisland.org/EIFile/popup ... &line=0012

their families always remained in Italy, the two brothers were in USA alone.
Giuseppe returned in Italy around 1930, and he does not have never revealed the fate of the brother.
Giuseppe returned very rich.
Giovanni is never returned.

This is all i know about my grand father Giovanni, i have recently found the birth certificate, he was born in Carinola on march 2, 1877, his father's name was Antimo, married in 1900 with Rosa Ferraro and had two sons, both female ( the family never has gone in USA).

I would like to know his fate in USA, specially where and when he is died and where is buried.

Thanks to all who can help me, do not fear make confusion!!!

Ciao Francesco,

Puoi spiegare meglio?

Ecco cosa ho trovato:

U.S. Passport Applications, 1795-1925
about Joseph Demicis
Name: Joseph Demicis
Birth Date: 15 Jul 1880
Birth Place: Carinola, Italy
Residence: Avondale, Pennsylvania
Passport Issue Date: 28 Jun 1920
Father Name: Antimo Demicis
Father's Birth Location: Italy
Father's Residence: Italy
Passport Includes a Photo: Y
Source: Passport Applications, January 2, 1906 - March 31, 1925 (M1490)

Pagina 2 (foto):

Se fosse davvero lui allora dovremmo cercare i censimenti in Pennsylvania.....
Facci sapere!

I found the 1921 arrival manifest about Joseph returning in USA after his stay in Italy....
But there is no other helping date for us....
Found it under:

Philadelphia Passenger Lists, 1800-1945
about Giuseppe De Micis
Name: Giuseppe De Micis
Arrival Date: 6 May 1921
Age: 41 Years
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1880
Gender: Male
Port of Departure: Naples, Italy
Ship Name: Taormina
Port of Arrival: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Birthplace: West Chester, Pennsylvania (it's not the birth place but the Naturalization place....)
Microfilm Roll Number: T840_142

So many of us worked on this thread originally, it would be nice if someone gave us the a recap of this last info. I can understand a little Italian and I think that Dedo is a great grandchild of Giuseppe, but I would like to understand a little more of what is happening. (Don't need a word for word, just the gist of it.)

Grazie

Hi Misbris,

I apologize...
Dedo (Francesco) is the great-grandson of Joseph De Dominicis.
He was writing that Joseph had only one son, Alessandro.
Alessandro had two sons, one ot them was Dedo's father.
He also know that Antonio (Underground) contacted his father just to ask news about Giovanni De Dominicis. Dedo's father passed away the past december.
and.... he's so excited to see all the documents that we togheter found about Joseph... :D
I sent an e-mail message to Underground (Antonio) asking him to "jump" in the forum and see....

Dear Laura, you're right. Giuseppe De Dominicis had two sons: Alessandro (my grandfather) and Pasquale, died in 1918 when he was very young (about 15/18). This is also the reason because the name of my uncle is Pasquale. I've kept in touch witn Antonio via e-mail.

Thanks for your condolences.

Ciao!

I'm really interested in lending what I can to this thread and also gleaning from it.

I will bring dates in the future but my late husband Michael James DiDomenico DOB 5.18.75 was born in Roanoke VA, his father Frances DiDomenico currently resides in St. Petersburg Fl
my husband didn't know much about his family and it wasn't talked about
the only thing he did know was that they were out of Sicily (don't remember north or south) and that his grandfather owned a restaurant in New Jersey that was a city block in size and there was a write up in the local paper about it.

I want to know more for our daughter and I want the name to carry on.

I hope I can help you all out as well.
