Hello-

I requested his naturalization records today. I believe VP may be correct with the extended family information---John Mazzone was related to who I thought was a cardinal in the church but could be priest...

I believe John Mazzone's birthplace was
MERANO, town in the province of Bolzano, region of Trentino Alto Adige.

Now, how to find out if there are any living relatives still in Italy?

Thank you so much!!

Ciao, Jackie

Very Well....

However, I would like his birth record and that should be located in Italian records, possibly in Tyrolean records if he indeed was born in Merano.

Also, his brother Bartholomew was a priest in the Rocca Grimalda. Is it possible to locate his information through this church?

Although--it says Giovanni Mazzone, not John...is this not common?
Hi Jackie,
I read your posts only now, finding them googling with Mozzone and Buffalo NY.
A couple of days ago I found a Christmas card sent by Margaret Mozzone to my father Tullio Mozzone. The postcard date was December the 15th, 1948.
My family is from Merana (Alessandria province, Piedmont region). My father's uncle name was Bartolomeo, he was a priest. My grandfather's name was Domenico (I have the same name).
I have also a portait of Amalia Mozzone.

I think that Margaret Mozzone was our last known relative in USA.
My father Tullio died on jan 1992 and I have not more information, but I remember an old picture with a big man togheter with other members of my family in Merana. I believe that man is John Mozzone during an holiday period in Italy.
It's strange for me to read these posts with names and facts that could be strongly related to my family.

I hope to hear about you soon, even if the last post was 3 yrs old.

Have a nice day
Domenico

I believe that the WWI draft registration card posted from vj it is right... the problem is to understand the name town.. it seem wrote as Meraner.. we must to find the right place... also the ship's manifest is very helpful.... regards, suanj
the name town is Merana, Alessandria Province, Piedmont Region.
In sure about that as I recognised my family!!
How can I reestablish a contact with Jackie Mazzone?
Thank you very much

Hi Livio, thank you very much for your interest.
I sent a PM as first as soon I read posts, but the last of them is 3 years old, a long period, and I'm afraid that Jackie Mazzone does not reads her mail box anymore.
I'll wait, collecting more information about John Mazzone in case of a new contact

When you send a PM an email notification is sent to the address given at the time of registration. Maybe Jackie has a different email address since then

yes you're right. I tried in the last week to find out a contact, an email, a phone number, without success..
In Europe if you know a person name and residence town it’s quite impossible to find out email address or telephone number (privacy, personal information protection.. ), I imagine is the same in US
have a nice day
