I appreciate the direction; however, I'm looking for something more official. Someone that researches surnames - a professional?

My family comes from Toritto, Bari - and have a very uncommon surname: Losquadro.
I can't find any information on this surname and I'm not sure where else I can look or if there is someone that specializes in names from Southern Italy.

Any direction would be great.

I am hoping someone can take a look at the Ellis Island ship manifest, line 6 - for Pietro Bartolomeo. I can't figure out what it say's above and to the right of Dr. Certificate. According to my grandfather (deceased), he was born in the US. This is also documented on the Census records listing him and his wife/children. He did have one brother in the US - Domenic, but I don't know anything about him, where he lived/died (although I do have a prayer card w/date) I can't find...
