Re: Looking for my Great Great Grandmother
Hello, That could be them but it says they are going to visit his wife/their mother Maria Patalina/Fatalina in Brooklyn...does that make sense? One thing I did find is a marriage for Paolo Tortorella in July of 1925 to Carmela Maratano...are those your Great Grandparents? If so, the certificate numb...

Re: What can i expect from FHL?
I have been using the Newtown FHC for the last 6 months or so. They must have upgraded the equipment since you were last there....they have multiple lenses, an "electronic" viewer and a PC connection to scan/print images directly from the viewer. The volunteers are very helpful.

Re: Searching for Ciotti in Roccagorga
Hi Vickie, Yes, Uncle Rich is trying to locate him through the gentleman from the UK who bought the house in Roccagorga....they called him Pepe...I assumed that was short for Giuseppe, but Uncle Rich was not sure...will let you know. There are still 85 Ciotti families in tiny Roccagorga (probably 10...

Re: Mele Family from Avellino, Italy
Hello Talamini, Part of my family is from the Avellino area (Atripalda) and the civil/town records are very complete and orderly. As I understand you are interested in tracing the history back in Avellino. The following link shows you the microfilm numbers for the various years/facts: http://www.fam...

Re: Where do I go to find information?
Hello, On ancestry.com, I found the 1930 CT Census of the Scalia family...looks like he came over in 1910 and Josephine in 1913. There is definitely quite a bit on ancestry.com which will get you started. Also, the Mormon Church does have microfilm records from the town of Favara: http://www.familys...
