Tamburrino
Can someone help me by posting information on the 1910 census? I need to request a copy of it for dual citizenship. Ancestry has me Great Great Grandfather as a Coma Tanbierno. Pretty close to Canio Tamburrino Huh.

Re: DiStefano name
Norcia is a town in Perugia. DiStefano is a common sicilian name. However, Severini seems to be quick popular in the area. Is the birth certificate still legible? It can tell us where you family is from (as DiStefano doesn't seem to come from Perugia but southeastern Sicily).

Re: HELPPPP!! unsure of juri sanguinis/citizenship
Petitioning for naturalization and actually being naturalized are 2 different things. However, the US Census is ok as a general guide as to when he was naturalized but I wouldn't count on it. You need to request his naturalization paperwork. Where was he naturalized?

Did you get the church to send you their record of the marriage? They should still have it.

Re: New Jersey Marriage Records Question
Did you contact the church where they were married? they might be able to help you. Beyond that, on NJ's web page they states that you can give they county instead of the town. That might be the way to go. Are you positive on the date?

Re: first name question
Are you going by what you read on the census or what a search engine is telling you? I found census information that whoever inputted it in the system couldn't read the handwriting. Canio Tamburrino came up as Carnio, Camio and Cardio. Plus one search came up as him being female. So, if you are gett...

Re: birth certificate does not list gender of child
The key to finding out the sex of the child is in the name. Unlike English, there are no names that are used for both sexes (or at least I never came across any).

Well, I need the formal documents as I am applying for dual citizenship. An Italian friend of mine told me it would be quite difficult to get. It might take a day or two.

Going to Italy and requesting information
I am going to Italia, Vaglio Basilicata to be precise, and am going to request the documents that I have requested by mail more than 5 times. I have a copy of my relatives Listo di Levio and a copy of his "presentation" to the town after his birth. Does anyone have direct experience with r...
