I found some info from the date of immigration. He had a different name and travelled with his family parents, brothers, sisters. It appears he died around 1952-1955 seems right because I remember I was either just born according to my family or when I was real young because I don't remember him. A bit when I look at photos I notice places but as far as remembering him I really don't. I can't find a social security listing on him in many ways of searching or anything else. Just the 1930 census. I think will order the other census to see if I can find him. I been looking for land deeds and other info, but still nothing. Maybe if I order my father's birth certificate this would show something.

Have you sent for naturalization records? According to the 1930 census he has naturalized.

Elizabeth, on the 1930 census he stated he was naturalized (NA)... see the column number 93... He stated also his year of immigration as 1896...

Hope this helps!

Hello Elizabeth!
Have you found his manifest?
Depending on the year, there may be markings on it (verification of arrival) that will help locate where he was naturalized.

If he came thru NY between 1892 and 1924, check Ellis Island:
stevemorse.org/ellis2/...sgold.html

If he came in thru another port, ancestry. com is probably the best site

I am ordering my dads birth certificate because his parents names are on there. That will clear up this mystery.

Ok, so my grandfather was born in Italy, came from Naples in 1896 from what I am gathering. My father's birth certificate has him at 48 in 1921. Omitting the data of him at 45 in 1930 on the census my father's mother's name was Christinia Bowser age 27 in 1921 on the birth certificate. She was deceased according to the census. The only Domenico to match the birth certificate date was on the Neustria in 1896 at age 22. I do remember my father saying my grandfather was from Naples. The rest of my heritage is pretty unknown except by what I find from the birth certificate. I have been trying to do searches on my father's mother coming up blank and still can't find any social security info on my grandfather. Any suggestions? His year of birth around 1872-1873 if the birth certificate info is correct. This matches the ships manifest. Now where do I go? All of the other info I had doesn't seem to match unless I am doing the math wrong. Rolling Eyes

Elizabeth,
No help in the search for their father Domenic Vitale, but this is really neat
