Ancestors of Brambilla/Rovati

Post by Gina501 »

I am looking for ancestors of Amalia Brambilla and Giuseppe Rovati from Pavia, Lombardia. (I do not know if they were born and married in Pavia, but Amalia was in Pavia during the 1880s).
Amalia Brambilla was born in 1828 and Giuseppe was born in the same time frame. They were husband and wife.
I do not know any more information other than Amalia Brambilla was a widow in 1882 and living and working in Pavia during that time as a midwife.
I am axious to talk to any ancestors of theirs. Please PM me here or you can email me at ginag501 @ gmail.com (no spaces).

Hi Gina,

Are you related to Amalia and Giuseppe? Do you happen to know if they had any children? Did they ever come to the US or Canada?

I did a search on steve morse site and there are a few Brambilla's and Rovati's from the area you listed.

If you can give anymore information that would be helpful.

Regards,
Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth. Thank you so much for looking. Unfortunately I do not know anything else than what I listed. I am hoping to connect with some relatives that may be able to fill in some blanks for me. I'm sorry I can't be any more help than that.

Hi Gina,

There are 5 Rovati's listed in the white pages in various states. The addresses are listed so you might consider either calling or writing letters to each with your information to see if they might be related to Giuseppe and Amalia

http://www.whitepages.com/10583/search/ ... ime=survey

Here are the listings for Brambilla in the US. There are 130 names and addresses.

The only other thing you might do is order the microfilms of Pravia from the LDS church and look for their marriage banns and also birth certificates of any children they may have had. If you find their children you can than look on ellis island or steve morse site to see if they came to the US or Canada. Here is the link

http://www.familysearch.org/eng/Library ... t_fhlc.asp

Find the film numbers you need, find an LDS research center near you and order the films to view.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Elizabeth. I might contact the relatives in the US, but I am really looking for ancestors of Amalia and Giuseppe that stayed behind in Italy and never came to the US. Those are the relatives that can help me. I don't think the ones that came here would know details. But I'll give it a shot anyway. It couldn't hurt.

That's a BIG help. I will write to them instead. Thanks! I am still hoping a relative will see this and contact me. Perhaps I should write it in Italian too?

Yes, the letters should be written in Italian. I would compose my letter in english and then start a thread in the translation forum. Explain what you're trying to do and post the letter in english, ask if someone could translate it into Italian for you.

Hope this helps.
