DeVita Family from Montemesola

Post by cdevita »

Just started on this quest which is quickly becoming an obsession. I am looking to pursue dual citizenship USA/Italy. Found Passenger records for great grandparents and children but need to find birth records and marriage certificates. They stated Last Residence in Italy as Montemesola. Where do I go from here?? Cherylanne DeVita

You can request the certificates that you need, writing here:

Ufficio Demografici, Elettorale e Statistica
Via Roma, 23
74020 Montemesola (TA)
ITALY
email
demografici @ comune.montemesola.ta.it ( NO SPACES)
and providing all the data
italian letter forms:

hoping helpful,

I have received a response to my letter to the AS-NA - ARCHIVIO DI STATO DI NAPOLI after only 24 hours! According to his response, having the name of my great grand mother and the city in which she was born and her birth year is not enough information to locate the birth certificate. I suppose I need to find the commune.

I have sent a similar request to the Archivio di Stato di Tranato for my great grandfather with no response yet.

I had made great grounding strides within the first 2 weeks and now I am at a dead end...where to from here?
