Surnames of Mancuso, Briganti, Baglio and Buehlle

Post by band09mom »

I am looking for anyone with information on the surnames of: Mancuso, Baglio, Briganti and Buehlle (not sure of spelling). They are all from Corleone I think. Antonina Mancuso was born in Corleone in 1883. She use to go to St. Rosalia Church in Corleone. Her mother was named Rosalia Buehlle and her father was Antonius Mancuso. She migrated to the U.S. in 1896-1897. She married Biagio Baglio also from Corleone. His parents were Vito Baglio and Carmella Briganti. They moved to Louisiana where they resided until death. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

Valarie,
Yes, I would be happy to receive any info on how to conduct a search in Italy. I am at a dead end. Can't seem to locate any names that I can link to Biaggio Baglio and Antonina Mancuso. They had to have other relatives, but I can't seem to find them. It's very frustrating.

Thanks to the other reply that I received, but I can't read Italian.

Hello!

You could review your family’s records from Corleone on microfilm at your nearest Family History Center.
The cost is about $6 mo (rent), you’ll need to go to the center to order & view them.
If you haven't been to a center it is staffed with very helpful folks.
You may want to call 1st to verify the hours they're open

Valarie,
Thanks so much for the info. I have heard of the Family Center and do plan to visit it as soon as it reopens. It has been shut down since Hurricane Katrina and is scheduled to open January 2010. I am anxiously awaiting the reopening. Your info will help when I am finally able to visit the center.

Oh my Mary,
I'm so glad it's scheduled to reopen soon.
They have quite an extensive collection of microfilm available - especially US records.
In the meantime you could also write to Corleone for a few records
