Looking for Piccioli family information

Post by Piccioli »

My father was born in Serravalle di Carda in 1899. His name was Stephen Piccioli. He came to the United States in 1909 with his mother, Francesca Pierini Piccioli, and his brother Andrew and sister Pierina. His father, Fortunato Piccioli had come to the United States before the rest of the family. I am trying to find out if my grandfather Fortunato had any brothers or sisters or if my grandmother Francesca had any family.

I located the manifest for the following:

New York Passenger Lists, 1820-1957
Name: Francesca Piccioli
Arrival Date: 27 Apr 1909
Estimated birth year: abt 1880
Age: 29
Gender: Female
Port of Departure: Havre
Ethnicity/Race/Nationality: Italian (North) (Italian)
Ship Name: Chicago
Port of Arrival: New York, New York
Nativity: Italy
Line: 4
Microfilm Serial: T715
Microfilm Roll: T715_1252
Birth Location: Italy
Birth Location Other: apeechio
Page Number: 92

However...not all of the information on the manifest matches details provided in your post:

Francesca - age 29
Stefano - age 10
Mario - age 6
Pierina - age 2

First time to USA. Joining husband "Fortunato Piccioli" in Jessup, Pennsylvania. Place of birth "Apecchio" listed for all. Has never been to the USA before. Leaves no family in Italy.

Can you confirm this record?

Thanks "Wdlspirit" for the reply. I had found the info on the manifest. It is all correct. My Uncle Andrew 's birth name was Mario. I was told that Appechio is sort of like the county seat , while Serravalle di Carda is the town or village. My dad always said the he was born in Serravalle di Carda.
I didn't know that it said "leaves on family in Italy" on the manifest. I must have missed that. I assume she was talking about her children. I can't imagine that she did not have any brothers or sisters or other relatives. I would especially love to find out if my grandfather had any close relatives that he left in Italy. There is only 1 male Piccioli alive today and he is almost 80. He is the son of Mario (Andy). It is so sad that the name will be gone from that line of the family. If anyone can help I would appreciate it very much. Thank you!
