Tuzzio (Tuzi/Tuzio)

Post by Tuzzio »

Hi,

My relatives emigrated from Italy and moved to Banbury in the early 1900's.

They were originally from the Lazio region.

What is the best way to try and track further information as I do not have much info apart from my grandparents ?

thanks,

Darren

By obtaining records on each and every ancestor, birth, marriage and death.....also naturalization records if naturalized. Each record provides further clues and CONCRETE information as opposed to speculation.

If you are sure of the exact town of origin, you can send for records at the comune level......the more information you can provide on your ancestors
increases your chance of a reply from the comune......but you must know the exact town.

Hi Darren

Are you able to give your grandparents names and dates of birth.?
If you have a copy of their birth certificates it should give the name of the father on it- your g.grandfather.

Were your grandparents born in England or in Italy?

Hi,

thanks for your replies.

My granddad Joseph Tuzzio was born on 07/Sep/1920 in England. His parents were Giannadrea and Filomena who were born in Italy. Their oldest Son Sante Tuzi was Nationalised in the 1930's and his name changed to Samuel Tuzzio (I have found that record). The other siblings (all born in England as far as I know) were Mary, Antony, Flo & Stella.

Hope this helps!!

many thanks,

Darren

Hi Darren
Here is a link where you can look to find surnames in various regions/communes of Lazio. Perhaps this may give a clue to where your G. grandparents lived.

Just hope this link works, if it doesnt I'll try again.
God Bless

Hi Darren,

Information on ships to England that was previously postd...maybe helpful in your search.

QUOTE:"The records of ships arriving in England are held at the PRO Kew. They are kept in date order but not all complete. There are no indexes of names - you have to search through them" by member, joyse

Once you obtain the town of origin, let us know & we can for available LDS films and/or an address to writ for vital recors.
