Hi Debra & Valarie,

Here is the link to the 1930 census.

I did see this, but was looking for the "whole" family. Thanks Valarie for providing it.

Census shows that John was married twice.

Also, there are census listings for other John Antonacci & variations who were born sbout the same year, so the manifest information could be for one of them....Debra will have to verify.

Colunm #14 is "marital condition"......looked like a 2 in front of the M, but after looking at it again, I think it is just the way the "M" is written.

In your other post you weren't sure if Angelo was born in Italy or US.....gave you the information to obtain his ss application.....this will list his birth place. If born in Italy, it's possible that Giovanni returned to Italy to marry & his wife & son arrived after the 1930 census. EllisIsland website only goes to 1924, so you wouldn't find a return trip for Giovanni, nor the arrival of his wife & son if that is the case. You will need to check the NARA films for arrival. Here is a link to the films.

I'm amazed at all the wonderful work the forum members have done for your family history!! At times it would be a good idea to go to a LDS family history centre and use the computers there as they are also connected to Ancestry. com...

I don't think they charge one penny to use their computers... all you have to do is make an appointment...

I always felt it was best to do your American family history first (just like the members are doing for you) before researching the Italian records...

Good luck with your research!

Debra,

Here is a link to info on obtaining a New York death certificate.

http://www.health.state.ny.us/vital_records/

And a link to online database for naturalizations in New York county. It also includes a link to a form to request naturalization records.

http://www.italiangen.org/databaselist.stm

Hope they help.
